Visit of the key international experts, Professor Oztas Ayhan and Professor Josef Olenski to the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to the Contract signed on Twining Partnership between the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and a Joint Venture (Consortium) led by DevStat, currently the visit is being made by Professor Oztas Ayhan from February 8-17, 2017.
In accordance with the detailed work plan, this mission will be carried out on the following tasks:
• improving methodological skills of the staff in the field of classification, standards, sampling and seasonal adjustment;
• technical assistance in improving the methodological skills of the staff on seasonal adjustment, including the training of local staff of the relevant departments;
• technical assistance in the development of "Methodical instructions on the sampling design for sample surveys"
In this regard, the presentations were conducted on sampling and seasonal adjustments for the staff of the Agency on statistics.
The mission of Professor Josef Olenski started on February 13 and will last until February 17, 2017
The main objective of this mission is to analyze the materials and regulatory legal acts of Tajikistan, as well as to develop the draft of NSDS for the period of 2018-2022, including a review of the documents necessary to solve the problems in terms of implementation of the law on statistics and other normative-legal acts in the field of national systems statistics of Tajikistan, documents on improving the understanding role of official statistics to strengthen relations of AS with the relevant bodies responsible for taking political decisions.
The Contract on Twining Partnership is signed between the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and Joint Venture DevStat, including Servicios de Consultoria Estadistica S.L (Spain), UDA Consulting (Turkey), Open Data Watch (USA), Higher School of Economics of Moscow (Russia), CaiCo Consulting (Tajikistan) and the Statistics Lithuania.
