71ST MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF HEADS OF STATISTICAL AUTHORITIES OF THE CIS COUNTRIES

5 December chaired by the Director of the Statistical Agency under the President Republic of Tajikistan The 71st meeting of the Council of Heads of Statistical Authorities of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in the format of a videoconference.

The meeting was attended by members of the Council, representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, the Eurasian Economic Commission and the CIS Interstate Statistics Committee.

In the work of the Council a number of issues related to the development of the activities of statistical bodies in the CIS were considered, in particular, the process of implementing the project “Development of CIS Statistics in 2024” and strengthening professional competencies in the field of statistics.

Participants approved Program works Interstate statistics committee CIS for 2025 year and it was agreed that the chairmanship of the Council in 2025 will be assigned to the Chairman of the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan T.Budagov, also in next year, the Director of the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Jamshed Nurmahmadzoda, will become the co-chairman of the council.

Also in the Council, K.E. Laikam was elected Chairman of the Interstate Statistical Committee of the CIS for the next three years.

It should be noted that the decisions taken by the Council will contribute to improving the activities of statistical bodies in the CIS region and strengthening cooperation in this area.
