MEETING OF THE STATISTICS AGENCY BOARD

Today, the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan held an extensive meeting of the board to summarize the activities of the State Statistical Authority for the first quarter of 2024 and the tasks until the end of the year.

The meeting was attended by management, heads of departments and departments of the Agency’s central office and local statistical bodies. Director of the Agency for Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Jamshed Nurmahmadzoda, declaring the meeting open, first of all emphasized that at the meeting the results of the activities of statistical bodies will be analyzed and the necessary measures will be taken to identify and eliminate existing shortcomings.

Deputy Director of the Agency for Statistics Nazarzoda Zarina reported in detail about the activities of state statistical bodies in the first quarter of 2024 and noted that the Agency for Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, inspired by the next Address of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Parliament dated December 28, 2023, orders, instructions, instructions The President of the Republic of Tajikistan and decisions of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on statistics, socio-economic programs and plans, took the first quarter as the basis for its work and summed up the results for a number of significant indicators.

It was stated that the statistical authorities over the past period, in accordance with the “program of statistical work,” completed a total of 2569 statistical works, which is 100 percent of the plan. Of these, 572 works relate to statistics of industry and investment in construction, 689 to statistics of agriculture and environmental protection, 131 to statistics of finance, 190 to statistics of registration of prices and tariffs, 99 to statistics of household budget research, 228 to demographic statistics, employment and social statistics, 396 to statistics of material resources, trade and foreign economic relations and 264 to statistics of transport, communications, housing and communal services, paid services, which indicates the full implementation of the statistical work program.

The transition to electronic statistical reporting is a requirement of the time and helps ensure a high level and quality of collection, preparation, processing and presentation of transparent statistical information, as well as preventing cases of corruption. About this, Deputy Director of the Agency Nazarzoda Zarina noted that during 2023, the system for collecting and processing 232 forms of statistical reporting, of which 132 forms of state statistical reporting and 100 forms of interdepartmental reporting were fully implemented electronically, and work on data integration is currently ongoing with ministries and departments. During the meeting, reports were heard from the heads of the Agency’s Main Directorates in regions and departments, departments and sectors of the Agency for Statistics in the regions of republican subordination; the Agency’s management gave useful instructions and recommendations for further improving the level and quality of activities.
