Press conference of the Agency on Statistics

On August 11, 2023, a press conference was held at the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan with representatives of the media. The press conference was attended by representatives of: NIAT “Khovar”, agencies “Sputnik Russia”, “Avesto”, TV channels “Tourism and Crafts”, “Dushanbe”, “Jahonnamo”, radio stations “Khovar”, “Radio Tojikiston”, “ Ovozi Tojik”, newspapers and magazines “Jumhuriyat”, “Sadoi Mardum”, “Narodnaya Gazeta”, “Javononi Tojikiston”, “Minbari Khalq”, “Istiklol”, “Khalq Ovozi”, the website “Radiotoch”.

At the same time, the representative of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Khurshed Ismoilzoda attended the press conference.

Before the start of the press conference, journalists were presented with an information release on the activities of the state statistics bodies of the Republic of Tajikistan in the first half of 2023 and further tasks until the end of the year, as well as indicators of the socio-economic situation of the Republic of Tajikistan, other materials for use, including: report on the socio-economic situation of the Republic of Tajikistan in the first half of 2023 (in the state and Russian languages), a report on the demographic situation of the Republic of Tajikistan in the first half of 2023 (in the state and Russian languages) and a summary report on the results of the activities of state statistics bodies of the Republic of Tajikistan for first half of 2023.

At a press conference, the Director of the Agency on Statistics, Jamshed Nurmahmadzoda, presented a detailed report on the results of the activities of the Agency on Statistics in the first half of 2023 and upcoming plans and tasks. Then the Director of the Agency, heads of sectoral departments and departments of the central office of the Agency on Statistics answered the journalists’ questions.

The following questions were asked by media representatives on industry topics:

– the number of foreign tourists in Tajikistan in the first half of 2023;

– food prices;

– the number of unemployed;

– the number of external labor migrants of the Republic of Tajikistan, broken down by country;

– the number of national minorities in the country;

– the volume of fuel and grain imports to Tajikistan;

– results of the population census;

– statistics of births, deaths, marriages and divorces;

– foreign investments in the Republic of Tajikistan, etc.

The leadership of the Agency on Statistics gave specific answers to the questions of the media representatives on issues related to statistical bodies.
