THE NUMBER OF UNEMPLOYED CITIZENS IN TAJIKISTAN HAS SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED

The number of unemployed citizens in Tajikistan has decreased significantly, reports the Department of Demographic, Employment and Social Statistics under the Statistics Agency.

According to the source, at the end of December 2023, the number of officially registered unemployed, according to labor and employment authorities under the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Republic of Tajikistan, amounted to 48.3 thousand people, which is 9.7 percent less than in December 2022.

• According to this department, 46.3 percent of the total number of unemployed citizens of Tajikistan are women. The officially reported unemployment rate relative to the labor force is estimated at 1.8 percent.

Civil servants attribute the decrease in unemployment to the holding of job fairs and the opening of new socio-economic and industrial facilities that create new jobs.
