MEETING WITH THE UNITED NATIONS RESIDENT COORDINATOR IN TAJIKISTAN

On 16 June, 2023 a meeting was held with the Director of the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Nurmahmadzoda Jamshed with the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Tajikistan, Mrs. Parvathy Ramaswami , the purpose of which, first of all, was to strengthen cooperation and implement joint programs between the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the United Nations Office in Tajikistan.

During the meeting, prospects for cooperation in various areas were discussed, including in the field of improving the activities of the interagency working group on the nationalization of indicators of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The parties also discussed issues related to improving sample household surveys, improving the data collection system for the development of a modern economy and protecting economic security, the transition to electronic collection of statistical reports and thus reducing the burden for data reporters, as well as issues directly related to labor migration, the need on conducting an agriculture census; and conducting trade margin survey.
